The Gita · Chapter 1

Bhagavad Gita 1.17

काश्यश्च परमेष्वासः शिखण्डी च महारथः। धृष्टद्युम्नो विराटश्च सात्यकिश्चापराजितः॥

kāśhyaśhcha parameṣhvāsaḥ śhikhaṇḍī cha mahā-rathaḥ dhṛiṣhṭadyumno virāṭaśhcha sātyakiśh chāparājitaḥ

Translation

And Kâshya, of the great bow and Shikhandî, the mighty car-warrior, Drishtadyumna and Virâta and Sâtyaki, the unconquered.

What it means

The king of Kashi, Shikhandi, Dhrishtadyumna, Virata and the unconquered Satyaki join the sound. Allies bound by injustice suffered now stand together. Shared wounds make strong coalitions, stronger sometimes than shared blood.

Try this today

Coalition by shared wounds: allies bound by injustice suffered can stand stronger than allies by blood.

Something to reflect on

Which of my alliances are built on shared wounds rather than shared purpose?
