Bhagavad Gita 10.22

वेदानां सामवेदोऽस्मि देवानामस्मि वासवः। इन्द्रियाणां मनश्चास्मि भूतानामस्मि चेतना॥

vedānāṁ sāma-vedo ’smi devānām asmi vāsavaḥ indriyāṇāṁ manaśh chāsmi bhūtānām asmi chetanā

Translation

Of the Vedas I am the Sâma-Veda; I am Vâsava of the Shining Ones; and of the senses I am the mind; I am of living beings the intelligence.

What it means

Among the Vedas I am the Sama Veda; among the gods, Indra; among the senses, the mind; among living beings, consciousness. The list moves from scripture to awareness itself. The glory closest to us is the one reading these words.

Try this today

Among scriptures the song, among powers the king, among faculties the mind, among beings awareness itself.

Something to reflect on

Which of my faculties is the peak of its class - and what is it for?
