The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.21

amī hi tvāṁ sura-saṅghā viśhanti kechid bhītāḥ prāñjalayo gṛiṇanti svastīty uktvā maharṣhi-siddha-saṅghāḥ stuvanti tvāṁ stutibhiḥ puṣhkalābhiḥ

Translation

To Thee the troops of Suras enter in, Some with joined palms in awe invoking Thee; Banded Maharshis, Siddhas, cry: "All hail"! Chanting Thy praises with resounding songs.

What it means

Troops of gods enter into You, some with folded palms crying out in fear; hosts of sages and perfected ones shout "All hail!" and sing Your praises. The response of heaven is mixed: terror and praise together. Both are accurate.

Try this today

Even the powers take shelter: worship and petitions for peace rise from every direction.

Something to reflect on

In my own response to overwhelming things, which is it - terror or praise - or both?
