Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 13

Bhagavad Gita 13.19

प्रकृतिं पुरुषं चैव विद्ध्यनादी उभावपि।विकारांश्च गुणांश्चैव विद्धि प्रकृतिसंभवान्॥

prakṛitiṁ puruṣhaṁ chaiva viddhy anādī ubhāv api vikārānśh cha guṇānśh chaiva viddhi prakṛiti-sambhavān

Translation

Know thou that Matter and Spirit are both without beginning; and know thou also that modifications and qualities are all Matter -born.

What it means

Know that nature and spirit are both beginningless; and know that modifications and the gunas are born of nature. Two eternals are distinguished: the witnessing and the witnessed. Everything that changes belongs to the second.

Try this today

Two eternals: stuff and witness, neither created; all change belongs to the stuff.

Something to reflect on

Which side of my life is the stuff and which is the witness - and do I confuse them?
