The Gita · Chapter 18

Bhagavad Gita 18.66

सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज।अहं त्वा सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः॥

sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śharaṇaṁ vraja ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣhayiṣhyāmi mā śhuchaḥ

Translation

Abandoning all duties come unto Me alone for shelter; sorrow not, I will liberate thee from all sins.

What it means

Abandoning all dharmas, come to Me alone for shelter; do not grieve: I will free you from all sins. Interpretations of "all dharmas" differ across traditions; Sastri's Advaita reads the renunciation of all works into knowledge of the Self. This card follows that single-tradition reading, not cross-tradition verified.

Try this today

The chapter's closing call: one refuge, one promise. Come, and stop grieving.

Something to reflect on

What would I grieve less if I believed one shelter could cover it?
