The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.65

प्रसादे सर्वदुःखानां हानिरस्योपजायते। प्रसन्नचेतसो ह्याशु बुद्धिः पर्यवतिष्ठते॥

prasāde sarva-duḥkhānāṁ hānir asyopajāyate prasanna-chetaso hyāśhu buddhiḥ paryavatiṣhṭhate

Translation

In that Peace the extinction of all pains ariseth for him, for of him whose heart is peaceful the Reason soon attaineth equilibrium.

What it means

In peace, all sorrow ends; for the peaceful heart, discernment quickly becomes steady. Peace is not the reward at the end; it is the condition that lets wisdom settle.

Try this today

Peace is not the reward at the end; it is the platform from which clear thinking starts.

Something to reflect on

Do I treat peace as the prize at the end or the ground I start from?
