The Gita · Chapter 3

Bhagavad Gita 3.19

तस्मादसक्तः सततं कार्यं कर्म समाचर। असक्तो ह्याचरन्कर्म परमाप्नोति पूरुषः॥

tasmād asaktaḥ satataṁ kāryaṁ karma samāchara asakto hyācharan karma param āpnoti pūruṣhaḥ

Translation

Therefore, without attachment, constantly perform action which is duty, for, by performing action without attachment, man verily reacheth the Supreme.

What it means

Therefore, do your duty without attachment, for by unattached action one reaches the Supreme. The path to the Self runs through the work in front of you, not around it.

Try this today

The practical conclusion: since most are not Self-contented yet, detached duty is the road there.

Something to reflect on

What duty directly in front of me am I trying to route around?
