The Gita · Chapter 4

Bhagavad Gita 4.41

योगसंन्यस्तकर्माणं ज्ञानसंछिन्नसंशयम्। आत्मवन्तं न कर्माणि निबध्नन्ति धनञ्जय॥

yoga-sannyasta-karmāṇaṁ jñāna-sañchhinna-sanśhayam ātmavantaṁ na karmāṇi nibadhnanti dhanañjaya

Translation

He who hath renounced actions by yoga, who hath cloven asunder doubt by wisdom, who is ruled by the Self, actions do not bind him, O Dhananjaya.

What it means

One who has renounced action through yoga, cut doubt with knowledge, and is self-possessed: actions do not bind that one. The three operations are complete: renounced, severed, mastered. Work continues; bondage ends.

Try this today

The synthesis: work done after renouncing claim and cutting doubt leaves no chain.

Something to reflect on

What would my work feel like with the claim renounced and the doubt cut?
