The Gita · Chapter 1

Bhagavad Gita 1.14

ततः श्वेतैर्हयैर्युक्ते महति स्यन्दने स्थितौ। माधवः पाण्डवश्चैव दिव्यौ शङ्खौ प्रदध्मतुः॥

tataḥ śhvetairhayairyukte mahati syandane sthitau mādhavaḥ pāṇḍavaśhchaiva divyau śhaṅkhau pradadhmatuḥ

Translation

Then, stationed in their great war-chariot, yoked to white horses, Mâdhava and the son of Pându blew their divine conches.

What it means

Krishna and Arjuna, stationed on their great chariot drawn by white horses, answer with divine conches. Where the Kaurava blast was sudden and disorderly, this response is measured. The contrast sets outer frenzy against inner steadiness.

Try this today

The answering signal is described as 'divine' - the text quietly marks the moral weight of the Pandava side.

Something to reflect on

When the other side is frantic, can my answer be measured instead?
