Bhagavad Gita 1.15
पाञ्चजन्यं हृषीकेशो देवदत्तं धनंजयः। पौण्ड्रं दध्मौ महाशङ्खं भीमकर्मा वृकोदरः॥
pāñchajanyaṁ hṛiṣhīkeśho devadattaṁ dhanañjayaḥ pauṇḍraṁ dadhmau mahā-śhaṅkhaṁ bhīma-karmā vṛikodaraḥ
Translation
Pânchajanya by Hrishîkesha, and Devadatta by Dhananjaya. Vrikodara of terrible deeds blew his mighty conch, Paundra;
What it means
Krishna blows Panchajanya, Arjuna his Devadatta, and Bhima his mighty Paundra. The conches have names and lineages, like the men who sound them. Each blast is a declaration of identity: who you are is announced by what you stand for.
Try this today
Narrative verse; the Pandava conches are named like instruments of meaning.
Something to reflect on
If my actions announced who I am, what would they say I stand for?
