Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 1

Bhagavad Gita 1.25

भीष्मद्रोणप्रमुखतः सर्वेषां च महीक्षिताम्। उवाच पार्थ पश्यैतान्समवेतान्कुरूनिति॥

bhīṣhma-droṇa-pramukhataḥ sarveṣhāṁ cha mahī-kṣhitām uvācha pārtha paśhyaitān samavetān kurūn iti

Translation

Over against Bhîshma, Drona and all the rulers of the world, said: "O Pârtha, behold these Kurus gathered together."

What it means

Facing Bhishma, Drona and all the rulers, Krishna says simply: "Behold these Kurus gathered together." The teacher's first act is not argument but presentation: look. Wisdom begins with unflinching attention to what is actually in front of you.

Try this today

The teacher's whole instruction is one sentence: look. Real teaching often starts with attention, not answers.

Something to reflect on

What am I being asked to simply pay attention to right now?
