Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 10

Bhagavad Gita 10.13

आहुस्त्वामृषयः सर्वे देवर्षिर्नारदस्तथा। असितो देवलो व्यासः स्वयं चैव ब्रवीषि मे॥

āhus tvām ṛiṣhayaḥ sarve devarṣhir nāradas tathā asito devalo vyāsaḥ svayaṁ chaiva bravīṣhi me

Translation

All the Rishis have thus acclaimed Thee, as also the divine Rishi, Nârada; so Asita, Devala, and Vyâsa; and now Thou Thyself tellest it me.

What it means

All the sages have declared this of You: the divine sage Narada, and Asita, Devala and Vyasa; and now You Yourself tell me. Testimony of tradition and direct statement converge. Arjuna cross-checks his sources.

Try this today

Arjuna cites his sources: tradition says it, and now the source confirms it.

Something to reflect on

Do I cross-check my deepest beliefs against more than one kind of witness?
