The Gita · Chapter 10

Bhagavad Gita 10.20

अहमात्मा गुडाकेश सर्वभूताशयस्थितः। अहमादिश्च मध्यं च भूतानामन्त एव च॥

aham ātmā guḍākeśha sarva-bhūtāśhaya-sthitaḥ aham ādiśh cha madhyaṁ cha bhūtānām anta eva cha

Translation

I, O Gudakesha, am the Self, seated in the heart of all beings; I am the beginning, the middle, and also the end of all beings.

What it means

I am the Self seated in the hearts of all beings; I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings. The first glory is the innermost one. Before any cosmic title, God is the "I" in everyone.

Try this today

The anchor verse: the divine as the innermost Self of everything, and its whole timeline.

Something to reflect on

What is the 'I' in me that was there at the beginning of every memory?
