The Gita · Chapter 10

Bhagavad Gita 10.34

मृत्युः सर्वहरश्चाहमुद्भवश्च भविष्यताम्। कीर्तिः श्रीर्वाक्च नारीणां स्मृतिर्मेधा धृतिः क्षमा॥

mṛityuḥ sarva-haraśh chāham udbhavaśh cha bhaviṣhyatām kīrtiḥ śhrīr vāk cha nārīṇāṁ smṛitir medhā dhṛitiḥ kṣhamā

Translation

And all-devouring Death am I, and the origin of all to come; and of feminine qualities, fame, prosperity, speech, memory, intelligence, constancy, forgiveness.

What it means

I am all-devouring Death, and the origin of all that is to be; among feminine virtues I am fame, prosperity, speech, memory, intelligence, firmness and patience. Endings and beginnings share one source. The destructive is not exempted from divinity.

Try this today

Both terminus and genesis, plus the seven graces named - the whole arc held in one.

Something to reflect on

Can I hold endings and beginnings as coming from the same place?
