The Gita · Chapter 10

Bhagavad Gita 10.33

अक्षराणामकारोऽस्मि द्वन्द्वः सामासिकस्य च। अहमेवाक्षयः कालो धाताऽहं विश्वतोमुखः॥

akṣharāṇām a-kāro 'smi dvandvaḥ sāmāsikasya cha aham evākṣhayaḥ kālo dhātāhaṁ viśhvato-mukhaḥ

Translation

Of letters the letter A I am, and the duality of a compound; I also everlasting Time; I the Supporter, whose face turns everywhere.

What it means

Among letters I am A; among compounds, the dual; I am also inexhaustible Time; I am the all-facing Sustainer. From the alphabet to the cosmos, the building blocks are claimed. Even grammar whispers the source.

Try this today

The alphabet's first sound, the simplest joining, time itself, the all-facing sustainer.

Something to reflect on

What are the building blocks of my world - the A of it, the simplest joining?
