The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.16

अनेकबाहूदरवक्त्रनेत्रं पश्यामि त्वां सर्वतोऽनन्तरूपम्। नान्तं न मध्यं न पुनस्तवादिं पश्यामि विश्वेश्वर विश्वरूप॥

aneka-bāhūdara-vaktra-netraṁ paśhyāmi tvāṁ sarvato ’nanta-rūpam nāntaṁ na madhyaṁ na punas tavādiṁ paśhyāmi viśhveśhvara viśhva-rūpa

Translation

With mouths, eyes, arms, breasts multitudinous, I see Thee everywhere, unbounded Form. Beginning, middle, end, nor source of Thee, Infinite Lord, infinite Form, I find;

What it means

Everywhere I see You, with countless arms, bellies, mouths and eyes, of boundless form; I see no beginning, middle or end of You, infinite Lord. The categories of measurement fail in real time. Arjuna reports the failure faithfully.

Try this today

Geometry fails: the form has no edges in any direction.

Something to reflect on

When has measurement failed me in real time?
