Bhagavad Gita 11.35
एतच्छ्रुत्वा वचनं केशवस्य कृताञ्जलिर्वेपमानः किरीटी। नमस्कृत्वा भूय एवाह कृष्णं सगद्गदं भीतभीतः प्रणम्य॥
sañjaya uvācha etach chhrutvā vachanaṁ keśhavasya kṛitāñjalir vepamānaḥ kirīṭī namaskṛitvā bhūya evāha kṛiṣhṇaṁ sa-gadgadaṁ bhīta-bhītaḥ praṇamya
Translation
Sanjaya said: Having heard these words of Keshava, he who weareth a diadem, with joined palms, quaking and prostrating himself, spake again to Krishna, stammering with fear, casting down his face.
What it means
Hearing these words, Arjuna, trembling, bowed down with folded palms and, overwhelmed with fear, prostrated himself and spoke again to Krishna, stammering. The body continues its own liturgy: bow, fall, speak. Fear and devotion are now indistinguishable.
Try this today
The response is bodily: trembling, prostration, a broken voice - before any words.
Something to reflect on
What does my body do under extreme awe or fear before I find words?
