Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.4

मन्यसे यदि तच्छक्यं मया द्रष्टुमिति प्रभो। योगेश्वर ततो मे त्वं दर्शयाऽत्मानमव्ययम्॥

manyase yadi tach chhakyaṁ mayā draṣhṭum iti prabho yogeśhvara tato me tvaṁ darśhayātmānam avyayam

Translation

If Thou thinkest that by me It can be seen, O Lord, Lord of Yoga, then show me Thine imperishable Self.

What it means

If You think I am able to see it, then show me Your imperishable Self. The request is humble: capacity is left for the Lord to judge. Vision is a gift, not an achievement.

Try this today

The request carries humility: show me only if I am able - capacity is the teacher's call.

Something to reflect on

Do I ask for experiences with humility about whether I can bear them?
