Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.3

एवमेतद्यथात्थ त्वमात्मानं परमेश्वर। द्रष्टुमिच्छामि ते रूपमैश्वरं पुरुषोत्तम॥

evam etad yathāttha tvam ātmānaṁ parameśhvara draṣhṭum ichchhāmi te rūpam aiśhwaraṁ puruṣhottama

Translation

O supreme Lord, even as Thou describest Thyself, O best of beings, I desire to see Thy Form omnipotent.

What it means

As You have described Yourself, O supreme Lord, I wish to see Your sovereign form. Theory asks for experience. The honest student wants to verify with the eyes what the mind has accepted.

Try this today

Understanding creates the wish to see: knowledge wants to become experience.

Something to reflect on

What do I know about that I have never asked to see?
