The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.46

किरीटिनं गदिनं चक्रहस्त मिच्छामि त्वां द्रष्टुमहं तथैव। तेनैव रूपेण चतुर्भुजेन सहस्रबाहो भव विश्वमूर्ते॥

kirīṭinaṁ gadinaṁ chakra-hastam ichchhāmi tvāṁ draṣhṭum ahaṁ tathaiva tenaiva rūpeṇa chatur-bhujena sahasra-bāho bhava viśhva-mūrte

Translation

Diademed, mace and discus in Thy hand. Again I fain would see Thee as before; Put on again Thy four-armed shape, O Lord, O thousand-armed, of forms innumerate.

What it means

I wish to see You as before, crowned, bearing mace and discus; assume Your four-armed form, O thousand-armed one of countless forms. The request is specific: the familiar divine image. Revelation must be livable to be useful.

Try this today

The request for the mediating form: not the human friend yet, but the bearable divine image.

Something to reflect on

What bearable form of a hard truth do I ask for while I grow stronger?
