The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.52

सुदुर्दर्शमिदं रूपं दृष्टवानसि यन्मम। देवा अप्यस्य रूपस्य नित्यं दर्शनकाङ्क्षिणः॥

śhrī-bhagavān uvācha su-durdarśham idaṁ rūpaṁ dṛiṣhṭavān asi yan mama devā apy asya rūpasya nityaṁ darśhana-kāṅkṣhiṇaḥ

Translation

The Blessed Lord said: This Form of Mine beholden by thee is very hard to see. Verily the Shining Ones ever long to behold this form.

What it means

This form of Mine which you have seen is very hard to see; even the gods long for this sight. Krishna confirms the rarity. What Arjuna nearly could not bear is what heaven itself desires.

Try this today

The rarity underlined: what Arjuna wants to look away from, the gods long to see.

Something to reflect on

What am I turning away from that others spend lifetimes seeking?
