The Gita · Chapter 11

Bhagavad Gita 11.9

एवमुक्त्वा ततो राजन्महायोगेश्वरो हरिः। दर्शयामास पार्थाय परमं रूपमैश्वरम्॥

sañjaya uvācha evam uktvā tato rājan mahā-yogeśhvaro hariḥ darśhayām āsa pārthāya paramaṁ rūpam aiśhwaram

Translation

Sanjaya said: Having thus spoken, O King, the great Lord of Yoga, Hari, showed to Partha His supreme Form as Lord.

What it means

Having spoken, the great Lord of Yoga showed Arjuna His supreme form as Lord. The narration pauses to mark the event. What follows is the Gita's attempt to say the unsayable.

Try this today

The narration hands over: the showing itself is one sentence - the description takes the whole chapter.

Something to reflect on

When life shows me something beyond words, do I let the narration pause?
