Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 12

Bhagavad Gita 12.15

यस्मान्नोद्विजते लोको लोकान्नोद्विजते च यः।हर्षामर्षभयोद्वेगैर्मुक्तो यः स च मे प्रियः॥

yasmān nodvijate loko lokān nodvijate cha yaḥ harṣhāmarṣha-bhayodvegair mukto yaḥ sa cha me priyaḥ

Translation

He from whom the world doth not shrink away, who doth not shrink away from the world, freed from the anxieties of joy, anger, and fear, he is dear to me.

What it means

One by whom the world is not disturbed and who is not disturbed by the world, free from elation, impatience, fear and anxiety, is dear to Me. The relationship with the world is two-way calm. Neither giving offense nor taking it.

Try this today

Mutual non-threatening: neither disturbing nor disturbable. The two directions of friction both removed.

Something to reflect on

Which direction costs me more - shrinking from others, or being shrunk from?
