The Gita · Chapter 14

Bhagavad Gita 14.14

यदा सत्त्वे प्रवृद्धे तु प्रलयं याति देहभृत्।तदोत्तमविदां लोकानमलान्प्रतिपद्यते॥

yadā sattve pravṛiddhe tu pralayaṁ yāti deha-bhṛit tadottama-vidāṁ lokān amalān pratipadyate

Translation

If Harmony verily prevaileth when the embodied goeth to dissolution, then he goeth forth to the spotless worlds of the great Sages.

What it means

If the embodied one dies when sattva is predominant, that one attains the spotless worlds of the great knowers. The inner state at the end colors the destination. Character is destiny, extended.

Try this today

The state at death steers the direction - sattva's trajectory upward.

Something to reflect on

What state do I want to be in when my own endings come - and am I practicing it?
