Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 14

Bhagavad Gita 14.18

ऊर्ध्वं गच्छन्ति सत्त्वस्था मध्ये तिष्ठन्ति राजसाः।जघन्यगुणवृत्तिस्था अधो गच्छन्ति तामसाः॥

ūrdhvaṁ gachchhanti sattva-sthā madhye tiṣhṭhanti rājasāḥ jaghanya-guṇa-vṛitti-sthā adho gachchhanti tāmasāḥ

Translation

They rise upwards who are settled in Harmony; the Active dwell in the mid-most place: the Inert go downwards, enveloped in the vilest

What it means

Those established in sattva rise upward; the rajasic dwell in the middle; the tamasic, wrapped in the lowest quality, sink downward. The moral cosmos is vertical. Direction is set by density of mind.

Try this today

The vertical map: three qualities, three directions of travel.

Something to reflect on

Is my life rising, circling or sinking this season - and what would change the direction?
