Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 14

Bhagavad Gita 14.6

तत्र सत्त्वं निर्मलत्वात्प्रकाशकमनामयम्।सुखसङ्गेन बध्नाति ज्ञानसङ्गेन चानघ॥

tatra sattvaṁ nirmalatvāt prakāśhakam anāmayam sukha-saṅgena badhnāti jñāna-saṅgena chānagha

Translation

Of these Harmony from its stainlessness, luminous and healthy, bindeth by the attachment to bliss and the attachment to wisdom, O sinless one.

What it means

Of these, sattva, stainless, luminous and healthful, binds by attachment to happiness and attachment to knowledge. Even the best guna binds. Pleasure in being good and wise is still a chain, though a golden one.

Try this today

Even the best quality binds - through love of feeling good and knowing much. Pleasant chains are still chains.

Something to reflect on

Does my contentment ever quietly function as a cage?
