The Gita · Chapter 15

Bhagavad Gita 15.14

अहं वैश्वानरो भूत्वा प्राणिनां देहमाश्रितः।प्राणापानसमायुक्तः पचाम्यन्नं चतुर्विधम्॥

ahaṁ vaiśhvānaro bhūtvā prāṇināṁ deham āśhritaḥ prāṇāpāna-samāyuktaḥ pachāmy annaṁ chatur-vidham

Translation

I, having become the Fire of Life, take possession of the bodies of breathing things, and united with the life-breaths, I digest the four kinds of food.

What it means

Abiding in the bodies of breathing creatures as the fire of digestion, joined with the life-breaths, I digest the four kinds of food. Even digestion is divine labor. The most automatic process in us is a sacred fire.

Try this today

Digestion named as divine fire: even metabolism is the sacred at work.

Something to reflect on

If digestion is sacred fire, what else automatic in me is holy labor?
