The Gita · Chapter 15

Bhagavad Gita 15.4

ततः पदं तत्परिमार्गितव्य यस्मिन्गता न निवर्तन्ति भूयः।तमेव चाद्यं पुरुषं प्रपद्ये यतः प्रवृत्तिः प्रसृता पुराणी॥

tataḥ padaṁ tat parimārgitavyaṁ yasmin gatā na nivartanti bhūyaḥ tam eva chādyaṁ puruṣhaṁ prapadye yataḥ pravṛittiḥ prasṛitā purāṇī

Translation

That path beyond may be sought, treading which there is no return. I go indeed to that Primal Man, whence the ancient energy forth-streamed.

What it means

Then that path is to be sought from which there is no return: "I take refuge in that primal Person from whom streamed forth the ancient energy." After the cutting comes the seeking. The goal is the source, and the movement is surrender.

Try this today

After the cutting, the seeking: the destination is the source of the whole stream.

Something to reflect on

After I cut, do I seek - or just admire the stump?
