The Gita · Chapter 17

Bhagavad Gita 17.27

यज्ञे तपसि दाने च स्थितिः सदिति चोच्यते।कर्म चैव तदर्थीयं सदित्येवाभिधीयते॥

yajñe tapasi dāne cha sthitiḥ sad iti chochyate karma chaiva tad-arthīyaṁ sad ity evābhidhīyate

Translation

Steadfastness in sacrifice, austerity and gift is also called " Sat ", and action for the sake of the Supreme is also named " Sat."

What it means

Steadfastness in sacrifice, austerity and giving is also called Sat; and action done for the sake of That is likewise called Sat. Constancy and dedication define the real. What endures is what is true.

Try this today

Even steadiness earns the name: staying with the practice is itself the real thing.

Something to reflect on

What practice has my steadiness itself made real?
