Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 18

Bhagavad Gita 18.24

यत्तु कामेप्सुना कर्म साहङ्कारेण वा पुनः।क्रियते बहुलायासं तद्राजसमुदाहृतम्॥

yat tu kāmepsunā karma sāhankāreṇa vā punaḥ kriyate bahulāyāsaṁ tad rājasam udāhṛitam

Translation

But that action that is done by one longing for desires, or again with egoism, or with much effort, that is declared to be passionate.

What it means

But action done with longing for desires, with egoism, or with great strain: that is declared rajasic. Effort fueled by craving has a signature: strain. Ambition can be heard in how hard the engine labors.

Try this today

Rajasic action: craving-fueled, self-signed, strained.

Something to reflect on

Can I hear strain in my engine - craving disguised as excellence?
