The Gita · Chapter 18

Bhagavad Gita 18.46

यतः प्रवृत्तिर्भूतानां येन सर्वमिदं ततम्।स्वकर्मणा तमभ्यर्च्य सिद्धिं विन्दति मानवः॥

yataḥ pravṛittir bhūtānāṁ yena sarvam idaṁ tatam sva-karmaṇā tam abhyarchya siddhiṁ vindati mānavaḥ

Translation

He from whom is the emanation of beings, by Whom all This is pervaded, by worshipping Him in his own duty a man winneth perfection.

What it means

By worshipping with one's own duty Him from whom all beings come forth, by whom all this is pervaded, a person attains perfection. Work becomes worship when offered to the source. The job description is the prayer.

Try this today

Work as worship, literally: your daily duty done toward the source becomes prayer.

Something to reflect on

If my daily duty were my prayer, would I do it differently?
