Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 18

Bhagavad Gita 18.71

श्रद्धावाननसूयश्च श्रृणुयादपि यो नरः।सोऽपि मुक्तः शुभाँल्लोकान्प्राप्नुयात्पुण्यकर्मणाम्॥

śhraddhāvān anasūyaśh cha śhṛiṇuyād api yo naraḥ so ‘pi muktaḥ śhubhāl lokān prāpnuyāt puṇya-karmaṇām

Translation

The man also who, full of faith, merely heareth it unreviling, even he, freed from evil, obtaineth the radiant worlds of the righteous.

What it means

Even one who merely hears it with faith, without scoffing, is freed from evil and reaches the happy worlds of the righteous. The lowest threshold is an open ear. Even listening without derision has fruit.

Try this today

Even listening with an uncarping heart earns: the lowest bar that still transforms.

Something to reflect on

Where has merely listening openly already changed me?
