Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.13

देहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा। तथा देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति॥

dehino ’smin yathā dehe kaumāraṁ yauvanaṁ jarā tathā dehāntara-prāptir dhīras tatra na muhyati

Translation

As the dweller in the body experienceth in the body childhood, youth, old age, so passeth he on to another body; the steadfast one grieveth not thereat.

What it means

As one person passes through childhood, youth and old age, so the self passes into another body. Death is a transition like the ones we have already survived. The steady person is not deceived by it.

Try this today

Change of state is not annihilation. What you essentially are is not erased by transitions - in life or beyond.

Something to reflect on

Which transition am I mourning as an ending that is really a change of stage?
