Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.17

अविनाशि तु तद्विद्धि येन सर्वमिदं ततम्। विनाशमव्ययस्यास्य न कश्चित् कर्तुमर्हति॥

avināśhi tu tadviddhi yena sarvam idaṁ tatam vināśham avyayasyāsya na kaśhchit kartum arhati

Translation

Know That to be indestructible by whom all this is pervaded. Nor can any work the destruction of that imperishable One.

What it means

That which pervades all this is indestructible; nothing can destroy the imperishable. The Self is not one more fragile thing among things. Knowing this rearranges every fear.

Try this today

The underlying reality - the Self - is not reachable by any weapon or loss.

Something to reflect on

Which of my fears assume that what I most deeply am can be damaged?
