Bhagavad Gita 2.21
वेदाविनाशिनं नित्यं य एनमजमव्ययम्। कथं स पुरुषः पार्थ कं घातयति हन्ति कम्॥
vedāvināśhinaṁ nityaṁ ya enam ajam avyayam kathaṁ sa puruṣhaḥ pārtha kaṁ ghātayati hanti kam
Translation
Who knoweth him indestructible, perpetual, unborn, undiminishing, how can that man slay, O Pârtha, or cause to be slain?
What it means
One who knows the Self as indestructible and unborn: how can that person kill or cause killing? Knowledge transforms the meaning of action itself. What changes is not what the hands do but who one understands oneself to be.
Try this today
Understanding changes what an act means. The same deed done in knowledge is not the same deed.
Something to reflect on
Does my understanding change what my actions mean, or only how I excuse them?
