Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.3

क्लैब्यं मा स्म गमः पार्थ नैतत्त्वय्युपपद्यते। क्षुद्रं हृदयदौर्बल्यं त्यक्त्वोत्तिष्ठ परन्तप॥

klaibyaṁ mā sma gamaḥ pārtha naitat tvayyupapadyate kṣhudraṁ hṛidaya-daurbalyaṁ tyaktvottiṣhṭha parantapa

Translation

Yield not to impotence, O Partha! it doth not befit thee. Shake off this paltry faint-heartedness! Stand up, Parantapa!

What it means

"Yield not to impotence, stand up." Krishna names faint-heartedness as the real enemy, not the Kauravas. Before any philosophy, the first instruction is to recover the strength to listen.

Try this today

Identity is leverage: Krishna reminds Arjuna who he is at his best. In a crisis of nerve, remembering your own proven strength is fuel.

Something to reflect on

What evidence of my own capability do I forget when fear arrives?
