Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.41

व्यवसायात्मिका बुद्धिरेकेह कुरुनन्दन। बहुशाखा ह्यनन्ताश्च बुद्धयोऽव्यवसायिनाम्॥

vyavasāyātmikā buddhir ekeha kuru-nandana bahu-śhākhā hyanantāśh cha buddhayo ’vyavasāyinām

Translation

The determinate Reason is but one-pointed, O joy of the Kurus; many-branched and endless are the thoughts of the irresolute.

What it means

The resolute mind has one direction; the thoughts of the irresolute branch endlessly. Commitment simplifies. A divided mind spends itself on possibilities; a settled mind moves.

Try this today

Indecision multiplies options forever; resolve prunes them to one line. Clarity is a cutting tool.

Something to reflect on

Where am I keeping options open only to avoid deciding?
