The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.40

नेहाभिक्रमनाशोऽस्ति प्रत्यवायो न विद्यते। स्वल्पमप्यस्य धर्मस्य त्रायते महतो भयात्॥

nehābhikrama-nāśho ’sti pratyavāyo na vidyate svalpam apyasya dharmasya trāyate mahato bhayāt

Translation

In this there is no loss of effort, nor is there transgression. Even a little of this knowledge protects from great fear.

What it means

In this yoga no effort is lost and no harm accrues; even a little of it protects from the great fear. Unlike worldly ventures, practice here is never wasted: no obstacle undoes what was gained.

Try this today

Progress here is cumulative and safe: nothing sincere is lost. Even small practice yields real protection against fear.

Something to reflect on

What small practice could I start that would survive even my worst weeks?
