Bhagavad Gita 2.55
प्रजहाति यदा कामान् सर्वान् पार्थ मनोगतान्। आत्मन्येवात्मना तुष्टः स्थितप्रज्ञस्तदोच्यते॥
śhrī bhagavān uvācha prajahāti yadā kāmān sarvān pārtha mano-gatān ātmany-evātmanā tuṣhṭaḥ sthita-prajñas tadochyate
Translation
The Blessed Lord said: When a man abandoneth, O Pârtha, all the desires of the heart, and is satisfied in the Self by the Self, then is he called stable in mind.
What it means
When a person casts off all desires of the mind and is satisfied in the Self by the Self, that one is called steady in wisdom. Contentment is relocated from the world to the self. Nothing outside is needed to complete the person.
Try this today
The first mark: satisfaction sourced internally rather than from outcomes, people or possessions.
Something to reflect on
Where does my contentment actually come from - and what happens when it is removed?
