Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 2

Bhagavad Gita 2.57

यः सर्वत्रानभिस्नेहस्तत्तत्प्राप्य शुभाशुभम्। नाभिनन्दति न द्वेष्टि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता॥

yaḥ sarvatrānabhisnehas tat tat prāpya śhubhāśhubham nābhinandati na dveṣhṭi tasya prajñā pratiṣhṭhitā

Translation

He who on every side is without attachments, whatever hap of fair and foul, who neither likes nor dislikes, of such a one the understanding is well poised.

What it means

Without attachment anywhere, receiving good or ill without delight or hatred, that one's understanding is firmly set. Events stop dictating inner weather. Response replaces reaction.

Try this today

Attachment-free does not mean feeling-free; it means not being owned by what comes and goes.

Something to reflect on

Can today's good news and bad news arrive without either one owning me?
