Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 3

Bhagavad Gita 3.28

तत्त्ववित्तु महाबाहो गुणकर्मविभागयोः। गुणा गुणेषु वर्तन्त इति मत्वा न सज्जते॥

tattva-vit tu mahā-bāho guṇa-karma-vibhāgayoḥ guṇā guṇeṣhu vartanta iti matvā na sajjate

Translation

But he, O mighty-armed, who knoweth the essence of the divisions of the qualities and functions, holding that "the qualities move amid the qualities," is not attached.

What it means

One who understands how the qualities and their functions are divided knows that qualities move among qualities, and is not attached. The observer emerges. When processes are seen as processes, the Self stops taking credit and blame.

Try this today

Seeing machinery as machinery removes personal pride and personal blame from the same events.

Something to reflect on

Can I watch my own reactions as processes instead of as me?
