The Gita · Chapter 3

Bhagavad Gita 3.40

इन्द्रियाणि मनो बुद्धिरस्याधिष्ठानमुच्यते। एतैर्विमोहयत्येष ज्ञानमावृत्य देहिनम्॥

indriyāṇi mano buddhir asyādhiṣhṭhānam uchyate etair vimohayatyeṣha jñānam āvṛitya dehinam

Translation

The senses, the mind and the Reason are said to be its seat; by these enveloping wisdom, it bewilders the dweller in the body.

What it means

The senses, mind and intellect are said to be its seat; through these it veils wisdom and deludes the embodied one. The enemy operates through our own equipment. Defense must therefore be internal, at the levels where it works.

Try this today

The enemy operates through your own equipment: senses, mind, even reason can be conscripted.

Something to reflect on

Which of my own faculties - senses, mind, reason - is my compulsion using against me?
