The Gita · Chapter 3

Bhagavad Gita 3.41

तस्मात्त्वमिन्द्रियाण्यादौ नियम्य भरतर्षभ। पाप्मानं प्रजहि ह्येनं ज्ञानविज्ञाननाशनम्॥

tasmāt tvam indriyāṇyādau niyamya bharatarṣhabha pāpmānaṁ prajahi hyenaṁ jñāna-vijñāna-nāśhanam

Translation

Therefore, O best of the Bhâratas, mastering first the senses, do thou slay this thing of sin, destructive of wisdom and knowledge.

What it means

So, first mastering the senses, slay this sinful thing, the destroyer of knowledge and wisdom. Start at the perimeter. The battle is won at the gates before it reaches the throne room.

Try this today

Start at the gate: control inputs first, because the enemy enters through the senses before it corrupts thought.

Something to reflect on

What input could I cut this week that would starve the chain upstream?
