The Gita · Chapter 4

Bhagavad Gita 4.20

त्यक्त्वा कर्मफलासङ्गं नित्यतृप्तो निराश्रयः। कर्मण्यभिप्रवृत्तोऽपि नैव किञ्चित्करोति सः॥

tyaktvā karma-phalāsaṅgaṁ nitya-tṛipto nirāśhrayaḥ karmaṇyabhipravṛitto ’pi naiva kiñchit karoti saḥ

Translation

Having abandoned attachment to the fruit of action, always content, nowhere seeking refuge, he is not doing anything, although doing actions.

What it means

Abandoning attachment to results, ever content, depending on nothing, though engaged in action one does nothing at all. Contentment decouples doing from binding. Such a person's work leaves no chain.

Try this today

Full activity, zero psychological residue: the contented worker leaves no forwarding address for karma.

Something to reflect on

Can I finish this piece of work and leave no psychological residue?
