The Gita · Chapter 4

Bhagavad Gita 4.21

निराशीर्यतचित्तात्मा त्यक्तसर्वपरिग्रहः। शारीरं केवलं कर्म कुर्वन्नाप्नोति किल्बिषम्॥

nirāśhīr yata-chittātmā tyakta-sarva-parigrahaḥ śhārīraṁ kevalaṁ karma kurvan nāpnoti kilbiṣham

Translation

Hoping for naught, his mind and self controlled, having abandoned all greed, performing action by the body alone, he doth not commit sin.

What it means

Without hope, with mind and self controlled, all possessiveness abandoned, acting with the body alone, one incurs no fault. Reduce action to its clean physical core and it cannot accrue guilt. It is motive, not motion, that binds.

Try this today

When action is reduced to pure physical doing, stripped of greed and grasping, it stops accruing debt.

Something to reflect on

What would this action look like stripped to its clean physical core, no greed attached?
