Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 4

Bhagavad Gita 4.31

यज्ञशिष्टामृतभुजो यान्ति ब्रह्म सनातनम्। नायं लोकोऽस्त्ययज्ञस्य कुतो़ऽन्यः कुरुसत्तम॥

yajña-śhiṣhṭāmṛita-bhujo yānti brahma sanātanam nāyaṁ loko ’styayajñasya kuto ’nyaḥ kuru-sattama

Translation

The eaters of the life-giving remains of sacrifice go to the changeless Eternal. This world is not for the non-sacrificer, much less the other, O best of the Kurus.

What it means

Those who partake of the remains of sacrifice go to the changeless Eternal; even this world is not for the non-sacrificer, how much less the next? The verse's own scale: a life with no offering loses both worlds.

Try this today

A blunt line: a life with no offering dimension is declared impoverished here, not only hereafter.

Something to reflect on

Does my life have any offering dimension at all - or only intake?
