Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 4

Bhagavad Gita 4.36

अपि चेदसि पापेभ्यः सर्वेभ्यः पापकृत्तमः। सर्वं ज्ञानप्लवेनैव वृजिनं सन्तरिष्यसि॥

api ched asi pāpebhyaḥ sarvebhyaḥ pāpa-kṛit-tamaḥ sarvaṁ jñāna-plavenaiva vṛijinaṁ santariṣhyasi

Translation

Even if thou art the most sinful of all sinners, yet shalt thou cross over all sin by the raft of wisdom.

What it means

Even if you were the most sinful of all sinners, you would cross over all sin by the raft of knowledge. No past is too heavy. Understanding is the one thing guilt cannot survive.

Try this today

No past is too heavy for understanding to carry. The verse is aimed at despair about one's record.

Something to reflect on

What part of my past have I declared beyond redemption?
