Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 4

Bhagavad Gita 4.6

अजोऽपि सन्नव्ययात्मा भूतानामीश्वरोऽपि सन्। प्रकृतिं स्वामधिष्ठाय संभवाम्यात्ममायया॥

ajo ’pi sannavyayātmā bhūtānām īśhvaro ’pi san prakṛitiṁ svām adhiṣhṭhāya sambhavāmyātma-māyayā

Translation

Though unborn, the imperishable Self, and also the Lord of all beings, brooding over nature which is Mine own, yet I am born through My own Power.

What it means

Though unborn and imperishable, the Lord of beings, governing His own nature, takes birth through His own power. Incarnation is described as freedom, not compulsion. The Divine is born by choice; we by momentum.

Try this today

The divine is described as voluntarily taking form while remaining what it is - embodiment without loss.

Something to reflect on

Where in my life do I act from freedom, and where from momentum?
