Yathora

The Gita · Chapter 5

Bhagavad Gita 5.16

ज्ञानेन तु तदज्ञानं येषां नाशितमात्मनः। तेषामादित्यवज्ज्ञानं प्रकाशयति तत्परम्॥

jñānena tu tad ajñānaṁ yeṣhāṁ nāśhitam ātmanaḥ teṣhām āditya-vaj jñānaṁ prakāśhayati tat param

Translation

Verily, in whom unwisdom is destroyed by the wisdom of the Self, in them wisdom, shining as the sun, reveals the Supreme.

What it means

In those whose ignorance is destroyed by Self-knowledge, that knowledge, like the sun, reveals the Supreme. Ignorance is not argued away; it is eclipsed. When the sun rises, the darkness is simply gone.

Try this today

Ignorance does not get negotiated with; like night before sunrise, it simply ends.

Something to reflect on

What darkness in me needs not argument but sunrise?
