The Gita · Chapter 5

Bhagavad Gita 5.17

तद्बुद्धयस्तदात्मानस्तन्निष्ठास्तत्परायणाः। गच्छन्त्यपुनरावृत्तिं ज्ञाननिर्धूतकल्मषाः॥

tad-buddhayas tad-ātmānas tan-niṣhṭhās tat-parāyaṇāḥ gachchhantyapunar-āvṛittiṁ jñāna-nirdhūta-kalmaṣhāḥ

Translation

Thinking on That, merged in That, established in That, solely devoted to That, they go whence there is no return, their sins dispelled by wisdom.

What it means

With minds absorbed in That, selves established in That, devoted solely to That, they go to no-return, their stains cleansed by knowledge. Total orientation is described with four repetitions. Half-measures do not reach the irreversible.

Try this today

Single-direction orientation described four ways: think it, become it, stand in it, commit to it.

Something to reflect on

What would total orientation toward one aim look like - and what is my aim?
